Cheaper Evercade retro consoles will arrive in July
Blaze Entertainment recently announced some exciting news about their retro gaming consoles. The Evercade -R range, which includes the VS and EXP consoles, has been updated with a fresh new look. These consoles are set to hit the market in July and each one comes with a bundled cartridge. Keep in mind that the previous versions of the consoles will still be available until stocks run out. Blaze made some changes to the handheld Evercade EXP-R in order to make it more affordable. They removed two features from the console: the 18 Capcom games that were originally built-in and the Mini-HDMI out port. On the bright side, this means that the latest version of the console is priced at $100 (£100 in the UK and €120 in Europe). The EXP-R now has a new textured grip on the back for improved comfort during longer gaming sessions. The console is charcoal grey with turquoise accents on the power, menu, start, and select buttons. Just like its predecessor, the EXP-R still includes features like Wi-Fi and a TATE button for vertical play with an accurate screen ratio. On the other hand, the Evercade VS-R is designed to be plugged into your TV, rather than being a handheld device. It comes in the same color scheme as the EXP-R, with a turquoise power button and front LED light. The VS-R has a dual cartridge slot and four USB ports for controllers. It also supports TATE screen rotation and offers Wi-Fi connectivity for firmware updates. The console comes with a controller and power cable, but you'll need to supply your own HDMI cable. The Evercade VS-R is also priced at $100. If you're looking for games to play on these consoles, Evercade has got you covered. They have introduced the Giga Cart, which can hold larger games (such as those originally available on CDs). The Giga Cart typically costs $25, compared to the regular Evercade cartridges priced at $18. Blaze plans to release two titles on the Giga Cart format this year, including the highly anticipated Tomb Raider Collection 1. This collection features the original versions of the first three Tomb Raider games, complete with the original character models and textures. The Giga Cart will also be available for purchase separately and can be played on existing Evercade and Super Pocket devices. However, Blaze is generously bundling it in with the Evercade EXP-R and VS-R consoles. So, if you're a fan of retro gaming, keep an eye out for these new consoles and the amazing games that come with them. Blaze Entertainment continues to deliver quality gaming experiences at affordable prices.
