Galaxy S25 Charging Speeds Leak, and There's Bad News

Samsung's base model will have 25W charging for the sixth year.

The Galaxy S25 series' launch is months away. Leaks have revealed the S25 Ultra's charging details. A regulatory filing might confirm the rest.

Gizmochina found a filing for the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus on China's 3C site. We verified the listing, as seen below.

The filing shows the S25 Plus charges at 45W. The base S25 maxes out at 25W. Neither phone includes a charging adapter.

The charging speed is disappointing for the base S25. Samsung's base models have had 25W charging since the Galaxy S20. So, 2025 will mark six years at 25W.

Fast charging isn't just about wattage. Yet, it takes over an hour to charge the Galaxy S24's 4,000mAh battery.

Other phones like the OnePlus 12 (80W or 100W), Nothing Phone 2 (45W), and Motorola Edge 2024 (68W) offer faster speeds. These phones also have bigger batteries and are sold in the US.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 is expected to have a 4,000mAh battery again. It will likely have the same rear cameras as the S24. So, don't expect major hardware upgrades.
