iPhone Alarm Bug Persists for Over Five Years

Lots of iPhone users use their phones alarm every day, but a bug has been causing problems for over five years. According to stories on Reddit and other online forums some people's alarms go off hours late even when they have updated to iOS 18.2.1.

Many job interviews tests and other important events were missed because of this glitch. One user even went back to an old-fashioned alarm clock after sleeping through an exam. Another says the built-in Reminders app messes up scheduled tasks so it's not just the Clock app that's affected.

Though not everyone has faced this bug, there are enough complaints to show it is more than just an isolated issue. A few staff members at Android Authority who use iPhones have not run into any problems so it does not seem to affect everyone.

If you are worried about being late you might want to set a backup alarm on a different device or try a simple bedside clock until Apple sorts this out. The company often releases software fixes, but it still has not fully addressed this alarm delay problem. There is also no official statement explaining what is happening which leaves many users guessing when or if Apple will fix it.
