Google Messages Adds Customizable Contact Names and Photos
Contact's photo and name in Google Messages app can now be easily personalized by setting chosen names and photos for each contact instead of default images and names that is registered in Google. This makes conversations more personal and organized and allows you to organize your contacts in a way that makes sense to you. I also ensures that users can easily recognize their contacts, especially if they have similar names or would like to upload a specific images over the default ones provided by their contacts' profiles.
To update this feature, your Google Messages app should be updated to the latest version. To customize a contact, open a chat with that person in the Google Messages app. Tap on their name or photo at the top of the screen. Than you can choose if you want to change their photo or name. You have the option to upload a new photo or create a nickname, and these changes will only be visible on your device, not on theirs.
